Encrypted scanning
When scanning, the scan data must first be transferred from the device to the server. This transmission path is different for different manufacturers and not all manufacturers can encrypt the transmission path.
For HP devices, the transmission is encrypted via HTTPs if the servers communicate in encrypted form.
For Lexmark devices, the transmission is encrypted using SMBv3. For this purpose, the workflow files share must be set in Windows:
- Enable settings for Sharing > Encrypt Data Access and
- Disable Allow caching of the share.
With Kyocera and Epson devices, the transmission can be encrypted via FTPs. To do so, the device must be set up accordingly and in IQ4docs, the transfer protocol must be set to FTP, see Scanning module on the device.
